Winifred E. McClane

ELKHART- Winifred E. McClane, 105, of Elkhart, passed way Monday October 19, 2020 at East Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart.  She was born July 30, 1915 in Mishawaka to Lloyd & Jessie (Bushong) Biggs.

     On September 3, 1949 she married Archie McClane.  He preceded her in death on January 10, 1986.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, 3 stepchildren, Donald McClane, Edward McClane, Delores Seymore and 8 siblings.  Surviving is her daughter, Eleanore McClane of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren and 6 great great great grandchildren.

     Winifred graduated from Mishawaka High School, enjoyed roller skating in her younger years and liked to sew, knit and crochet.  She worked for many years as a seamstress at Boris Smoler Dress Factory in Elkhart and sewed uniforms for the US Navy.

     Cremation will take place and a celebration of life gathering will be held at the V.F.W. #88 in Elkhart on October 31, 2020 from 1-4 p.m.  

  Burial will be private at Prairie Street Cemetery.  Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.
