ELKHART-Wilma Jean Hayward, 89, passed away May 15, 2021 at Elkhart Place Assisted Living Community. She was born May 29, 1931 in Brookville, IN to Harry & Dora (Biere) Hofer.
On September 7, 1950 in Bremerton, WA she married Lawrence Dean Hayward; he preceded her in death in September 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 granddaughter, Elizabeth Mundroff, 3 brothers, William Hofer, James Hofer and Charles Hofer.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Elaine (Jeff) Wolf of Grants Pass, OR, Linda (Dwight) Moudy of Nappanee, IN, Brenda (Robert) Mundroff of Ft. Wayne, IN, 1 son, Chuck (Cheryl) Hayward of Elkhart, 7 grandchildren, Austin (Melissa) Rodger of San Tan Valley, AZ, Suzanne (Mark) Holcomb of Goshen, IN, James (Brittney) Moudy of Bourbon, IN, John (Brittany) Mundroff of Whitestown, IN, Rebecca Mundroff of Pensacola, FL, Dustin (Kaitlyn) Hayward, Ryan Hayward all of Elkhart. Also surviving are 5 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Jo Ann (Oran) Dabney of Albuquerque, NM, Marjorie Dorrel of Medina, Ohio, 1 sister-in-law, Faye Hofer of Blooming Grove, IN and many nieces and nephews.
Wilma enjoyed quilting, gardening, and doing ceramics in her spare time.
Services will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery and officiating will be Rev. Will Smith from Resurrection Lutheran Church in Ft. Wayne.
