Wesley J. “Wes” Wells

April 23, 1947 – October 13, 2023

ELKHART- Wesley J. “Wes” Wells, 76, of Elkhart, went home to be with his Lord & Savior on Friday October 13, 2023.  He was born April 23, 1947, in Madisonville, Kentucky to Burt & Mabel (France) Wells.

     On April 14, 1976, in Reno, NV he married Nellie E. Schrock.  She survives along with 2 daughters, Wendy Wells and Theresa (Brent) Quick of Elkhart; 5 grandsons, Brad Newby, Gavin Newby, Kaiden Newby, Max Tenny, Brian Reynolds; 1 granddaughter, Lamanda Saling; a sister, Betty Ojeda of Wisconsin; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces; his furry friend Laci and his grand dogs, Bella and Lucy.  He was preceded in death by his father, Burt Wells, his mother, Mabel Beske, a son, Terry Wells,3 brothers, Marvin, Ernie and Roger Wells and his furry friend MooMoo.

     Wes was a US Army Veteran serving in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1967.  He was a member of the Sanctuary Church Family in Osceola, was highly skilled in painting and repairing body damage to cars (mostly his family) and he loved spending time at car shows and sharing his love of classic cars with his grandsons.  Wes worked driving trucks for Star Fleet for 17 years.

     Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 18, 2023, at the Omega Event Center, 2130 Middlebury Street, Elkhart, IN.  His going home service will start at 1:00 p.m. at the event center.  Pastor Jack Rorie from The Sanctuary Church will render the service and military honors will follow the service.  A meal will then be served in the fellowship hall at the event center.

     Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with his care.  Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at The Sanctuary Church.
