TIMOTHY W. BERRY

September 28, 1959 – February 16, 2023

KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN- Timothy W. Berry, 63, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, formally of Elkhart, Indiana was surrounded by family and friends, went to his Savior the morning of February 16, 2023, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  He was born to the late Lowell “Bud” and Norma Jane (Boyland) Berry on September 28,1959. in Elkhart, Indiana.  Tim was a caring son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.

After graduation in 1978 from Elkhart Memorial High School, Tim worked at the Elkhart airport, while he learned to fly.  Tim also worked at several travel agencies as a travel agent.

Tim’s love of adventure had him jetting to Europe on the Concorde, living in Arizona, working in Hawaii, and enjoying the hot springs of Iceland.  When pressed to pick a favorite destination, he would typically respond with, “All of them!”

Tim had a love for all music.  He was gifted in playing the piano and organ.

Tim followed his dream by completing his bachelor’s degree late in life.  Tim had a heart for others and often volunteered where needed at several  organizations over the years.  He loved teaching English online to foreign students.

Tim accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and was baptized at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan on January 30, 2023.  He wanted his friends and family to know he had been studying God’s word for 24 weeks before his confession of faith.

Tim is survived by a brother, Jim Berry of Elkhart, Indiana, a nephew, Damon Berry of Elkhart, Indiana, an Uncle Jim Boyland of Indianapolis, Indiana and an Aunt Janet (the late Richard) Boyland of Elkhart, Indiana and many cousins and friends.

Thank you to Bronson Hospital doctors, nurses, and support staff for the exceptional care and support given to Tim and to his many friends for the comforting thoughts and prayers given to him in his illness.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the family in Tim’s memory.  Private services for his family will be held at a later date.  As per Tim’s wishes cremation has been chosen.  Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with his care.
