Thomas L. “Tom” Russell

ELKHART- Thomas L. “Tom” Russell, 66, of Elkhart, died Sunday January 3, 2021 at his residence.  He was born September 24, 1954 in Elkhart to Charles David and Cora F. (Hawkins) Russell.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Dennis Russell, and Charles Russell a grandson Joshua Russell.  He is survived by a daughter, Jamie L. (Cory) Bright of Elkhart, 3 grandchildren, Joseph Bucker, Christina (Danny) Garner and Kaci Dann.  Also surviving is a great-grandson, Danny Garner IV, 3 siblings, David (Cindy) Russell of Elkhart, Brenda Kowalczyk of Gould City, MI, Linda Schott of Mishawaka and his former wife, Donna Hurt of Elkhart.

     Tom was formerly employed as a truck driver, was a member of the Baugo Township Volunteer Fire Department, enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR and spending time with his family.

     Visitation for Tom will be held for 1 hour prior to the 1:00 p.m. Friday January 8, 2021 funeral service at the Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Face masks and social distancing are required.  Pastor Tom Parsons from the Zion Missionary Church will preside and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery, where the Baugo Township Fire Department will sound the bell for the last call.
