Stanley J. Stankovich, 81, was born in to Heaven on Friday, September 24, 2021 at the Raclin House with the Center for Hospice Care in Mishawaka. He was born April 26, 1940 to John & Addie (Carlson) Stankovich. On June 21, 1958, he married Shirley Craft in Van Meer, Michigan; she preceded him in death on August 7, 2015.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 children, Rose Marie Mosier, Ivan Patrick Stankovich, 3 brothers, Patrick Stankovich, William Stankovich and Lee Stankovich.
Surviving is their 4 children Beverly (Robert) Vogelsong, Cheryl Lynn (Steven) Vogelsong, Stanley (Julie) Stankovich Jr., and Eugene J. (Julie) Stankovich. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 siblings, Shirley (Harold) Watchorn, Walter (Sherry) Stankovich, Mike (Phyllis) Stankovich, and 2 sisters-in-law, Carol Stankovich and Karen Stankovich
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the 12-noon funeral service at Northside Baptist Church Thursday, September 30, 2021. Burial will follow in Adamsville Cemetery and presiding will be Pastor Carl Henry.
Stanley was a local business owner, a proud pilot and enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family.
His true passion was his faith in Jesus Christ and he showed that by being very involved with his ministry, Faith Cometh by Hearing Ministry serving the people of Haiti and others around the world. He was also a member of Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart for over 45 years.
