ELKHART- Sheldon Lamar Hall, 99, of Elkhart, died Monday November 29, 2021
At his residence in Elkhart. He was born March 26, 1922, in Milford, Indiana to Cloyd Sylvester and Grace (Blough) Hall.
On August 24, 1946, in Bremen, Indiana he married Mary L. Kipfer. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2006, in Elkhart. Surviving are 2 children, Bardget Sue Nelson, Courtney Lee (Nancy) Hall both of Elkhart; 3 grandchildren, Justin Nelson, Cameron (Sara) Hall, Collin (Ashlyn) Hall all of Elkhart; a sister, Mary Ellen Hudon of Plymouth, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary and 5 siblings, Harlan Hall, John Hall, Virgil Hall, Betty Linn and Pauline Krull.
Sheldon graduated in 1942 from New Paris High School. He was a US Army veteran serving in W.W.II from 1942 – 1945. Sheldon was an avid Chicago Cubs
Fan, Notre Dame Women’s Basketball fan and Northwood High School Boys’ basketball fan. He worked at C.G. Conn Band Instrument in Elkhart for 24 years and worked for the Elkhart Post Office for 16 years retiring on April 2, 1989.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday December 3, 2021, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Cripe from First Christian Church in Mishawaka will be officiating. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery where there will be full military honors rendered. Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
