SOUTH BEND-Ruby M. Kasevic, 94, passed away May 8, 2021. Her life was well lived and had an end that was fit for a queen. She was born May 13, 1926 in Nappanee, IN to Owen & Ada May (Thomas) Hershberger.
On October 6, 1950 in South Bend she married Mike Kasevic, he preceded her in death on March 1, 1971. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Albert Hershberger.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Carol (Alvie) Calhoun, Jennie Goodman, Katie Vaerewyck, 5 grandchildren, Robert (Terry Gifford) Goodman, Bonnie (Adam) Lentych, Scott Vaerewyck, Christopher Vaerewyck and Peter Calhoun. Also surviving are 2 great-grandchildren, Ethan Lentych and London Calhoun and 1 cousin, Kenneth Hershberger.
Ruby was a member of Huntley Baptist Church in Niles, MI, enjoyed gardening, crocheting, macrame, needle point and game days with her family in her spare time. She will be forever remembered as the Queen she was to all that knew her and cherished by all those lives she touched.
May she rest in the peace in our Heavenly Fathers arms and be reunited with the love of her life, Mike for eternity.
Per her wishes cremation will take place and a graveside service will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rice Cemetery. A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday at her home beginning at 1 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to the America Heart Association.
