ELKHART-Ruby E. Ballard, 84, passed away March 23, 2026, at her home in Elkhart. She was born on October 7, 1941, in Elkhart to Mart & Bertha (Dean) Goldy.
On March 11, 1960, she married Robert Ballard; he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 5 grandchildren, Courtney, Jason, Nathan, Shanna, Zachiah, 2 great-grandchildren, Paisley and Lily, and 11 siblings.
Surviving are 5 children, Robert (Sherry) Ballard Jr., Donna (Doug Osborne) Morris, Mart (Sally) Ballard, John Morris, Linda Fry, 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Raymond Goldy, and 2 beloved dogs, Baby Girl and Goldy.
Ruby enjoyed baking, needlepointing, mud racing, and most of all spoiling her grandchildren.
Per her wishes cremation will take place and a celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice Care.
Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
