February 13, 1929-August 18, 2022

 

ELKHART-Roselyn “Rosie” M. Keesler, 93, passed away at 1:50 p.m. on August 18, 2022, at Hubbard Hill Estates.  She was born February 13, 1929, in Butler, IN to Orla & Clarissa (Bihr) Thiel and was the youngest of her three siblings. 


  On September 3, 1949, in Angola she married Jacob Keesler, and they were wed for 53 years before his passing on September 14, 2005.


  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jean Mason (Joe Byers)  and 2 sisters, Ruth Jones and Reba Payne.


  Surviving is her daughter, Nancy (Ron) Martz, 2 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.


  Rosie was a neighborhood watch parent when her children were growing up, having many kids in the backyard on the swing set running around playing tag and kickball. When her girls were in high school, she worked part-time as a clerk at Kmart in the baby department.  Rosie enjoyed the many vacations she and her hubby took after his 36 years of service to the Elkhart General Telephone Company.    


  Per her wishes entombment will be held privately at Rice Cemetery in the Faith Mausoleum.


  Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or to the National Diabetes Research Association.


  Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
