Ronald W. Schiltz

October 4, 1953-October 31, 2024

Nappanee-Ronald W. Schiltz, 71, passed away October 31, 2024, at Elkhart General Hospital.  He was born October 4, 1953, in Honolulu, HI to Richard & Martha (Corl) Schiltz.

  On July 9, 2006 he married Kathy Johnson; she survives along with 2 children, Bryan Schiltz, Yvonne Crane, 8 grandchildren, Jayden, Bailee, Brennan, Aliyah, Charlie, Kaylee, Jacob, and Ariel.  Also surviving are 2 siblings, Pegge (Carl) Allman, Jim (Deb) Schiltz, a niece, Stephanie Artley, numerous other family members and his beloved dogs, Honeybee, Buttercup, and Molly.

  Ronald was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran, member of the Masonic Lodge, the Order of the Eastern Star, South Bend Scottish Rite, the Edwardsburg American Legion, and worked for Jared’s Jewelry for 10 years.  He was an amazing chef, that also loved restoring antiques, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and traveling.  His outgoing personality always ensured that he made lifelong friends everywhere he went.  His presence will be deeply missed

  Visitation will be held from 11-1 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. and burial will follow in Rice Cemetery with military honors.  Presiding will be Todd Willman.

  Memorial contributions may be given to The Elkhart County Humane Society.
