Robert P. “Bob” Rogers

August 25, 1948 – December 24, 2025

ELKHART- Robert P. “Bob” Rogers, 77, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday December 24, 2025, at Riverside Village in Elkhart.  He was born August 25, 1948, in Elkhart, Indiana to Robert H. & Mildred (Costello) Rogers.

  Surviving is a daughter, Tamara L. “Tammy” (Todd) Houser of LaFontaine, IN; 2 grandchildren, Donovan Heath & Daphne Heath; 3 great-granddaughters, Addilynn Fuson, Atreya Suggs, Lyra Suggs all of Elkhart.  As well as a brother, David (Debbie) Rogers of Elkhart; 2 nieces, 4 nephews and 5 great great nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

     Robert served in the US navy from 1965-1967.  He loved camping, fishing, chopping wood and feeding and taking care of many Ferrel cats.  He also loved carpentry and construction and was known as “Carpenter Bob”.

     Cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services and a celebration of life gathering will be held at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral on Monday January 5, 2026, from 4:00 till 5:00 p.m.  At 5:00 p.m. there will be a time for the sharing of memories and stories.  Pastor Jack Rorie from The Sanctuary of Osceola will lead the service.

     Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
