ROBERT J. NISWANDER, JR.

SEPTEMBER 11, 1947 – JULY 6, 2021

UNION, MI- Robert J. Niswander, Jr., 73, of Union, died Tuesday July 6, 2021, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. He was born September 11, 1947, in Elkhart, Indiana to Robert J. and Betty L. (Baker) Niswander, Sr.

Surviving are 2 sons, Robert J. (Susanne) Niswander, III of Jones, MI, Patrick L. Niswander of Bristol, IN; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers, Randy (Sue) Niswander of Union and Allen (Star) Niswander of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1965. He was a member of the NRA, Boy Scouts of American, Ducks Unlimited and the Rocky Mountain Foundation. He enjoyed all shooting sports. Robert worked as a buffer in the band instrument industry in Elkhart for many years.

Cremation will take place and a celebration of life gathering will be held on Friday July 9, 2021, from 2:00 till 4:00 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be given to Ducks Unlimited.
