Richard “Rich” J. Brewer

ELKHART-Richard “Rich” J. Brewer, 75, passed away August 8, 2020 at the Elkhart Hospice House.  He was born February 11, 1945 in Elkhart to John & Pauline (Rutkoski) Brewer.

  On September 3, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nevada he married Vicki S. Garrison; she preceded him in death on June 17, 2016.  He was also preceded in death by his parents.

  On August 5, 2016  in Las Vegas, Nevada he married Dawn (Garrison) Wright; she survives along with, 5 children, Chris (Courtney) Brewer, Scott (Noel) Brewer, John (Kim) Brewer, Cindy (Matt) Smith, Janell Harvey, 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

  Rich graduated from Jimtown High School in 1963 and received his bachelor’s degree from Tri State University in 1967.  Throughout his life he worked at such places as; Southern Modular, Technical Space, Inc., Poor Tony’s Restaurant and Aries Systems.  He was also a member of the Moose Lodge.  He will be remembered as being a very hardworking and caring man. 

   In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or services and cremation will take place.

  Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

  Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care in Elkhart.
