ELKHART-Richard “Dick” A. Ginther, 93, passed away December 24, 2023, at his home in Elkhart.  He was born May 25, 1930, in Mishawaka to Ray & Mildred (Hemminger) Ginther.

  On September 16, 1957, in Angola, IN he married Mary Hepler; she survives along with 10 children, Jennifer (Kelly) McCormick, Timothy Ginther, Angie (Richard Fisher) Ginther-Reed, Christian Ginther, Susan Ginther, Sarah (Bradley) Jones, Jonathan Ginther, David Ginther, Bethany (Tom) Marvel, Mary (Krista) M. Ginther, 6 grandchildren, Nathan, Megan, Matthew, Amy, Kaitlin, and Joseph.  Also surviving are 3 great-grandchildren, Mia, Zoey, Henry and a brother, Herman (Rose) Ginther.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 grandchildren, Aaron, Adam, Allen and a sister, Laura Lemler.

  Dick was a U.S. Army Veteran, member of California Road Missionary Church, and started Buds Body Shop in 1972 where he was the owner for 50 years.   He was an antique car collector, enjoyed going to car shows, and also drove his 1936 Pontiac in the Great Race in 1991. He will be remembered as a wonderful father with a great heart.

  Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service on Friday, December 29, 2023, at California Road Missionary Church 29765 County Road 12 Elkhart, IN 46514.  Presiding will be Pastor Joel DeSelm and burial will follow in California Road Church Cemetery with Military Honors.

  Memorial contributions may be given to Shriners Childrens Hospital or to the 700 Club’s Orphans Promise.
