Ralph “Bill” Everett Windsor 5/5/1924 to 8/30/20
Elkhart- Bill Windsor 96, passed away of natural causes. He was born May 5, 1924 in Elkhart to the late Ralph A. and Florence (Gans) Windsor.
At a young age he led an adventurous life hunting all over the world, mostly in Africa and northern Canada. Bill was an expert marksman and champion skeet shooter. He received his pilot’s license as a teenager and would fly tourists to local destinations. Among his many experiences over a long, active life; he saved someone from drowning and another from burning to death.
He married Madalyn “Maggie” Weiss and for over 72 years they continued their love of travel together going on a world tour and visiting all the National Parks in the United States.
Bill worked in the RV industry back in the 60’s. He went on to own an Import - Export business out of Chicago. He later sold it and was happily able to retire on his 46th Birthday.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maggie, sister Bessie “Irene” (Windsor) Keim, and his twin brothers Richard Windsor and Cliff “Duke” Windsor both World War II veterans.
In keeping with his wishes no funeral services will be held. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home has been entrusted with his cremation.
