Phyllis May Fansler

August 20, 1927- July 22, 2024

Phyllis May Fansler, 96, passed away on July 22, 2024, at Esther’s House Hospice Care in Elkhart, Indiana.  She was born August 20, 1927, in Elkhart, Indiana.  Only daughter of Charles D. High and Dorothy Hartman, High, Helbling. 

She graduated in 1945 from Jimtown High School.   She married Robert H. Schumacher in 1946, and had 4 children, Edward L. Schumacher, Larry L. Schumacher, Robert H. Schumacher Jr., Phillip T. Schumacher.  She married Orville L. Fansler in 1973.  Grandmother of 5 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and 2 sons.

She Worked at Selmer company as Secretary to the Vice President. Her favorite passage of Scripture was Psalm 25 vs. 4 & 5 “Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in truth and teach me, for you are my God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long”. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 6pm - 8pm at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Funeral Servies will be Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 1pm with visitation 1 hour prior. She will be laid to rest at Rice Cemetery.  Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 East Jackson Blvd, Elkhart, IN has been entrusted with her care.
