PAUL A. RINK
September 17, 1944 – October 20, 2022
ELKHART- Paul A. Rink, 78, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday October 20, 2022, at the Raclin Hospice House in Mishawaka, Indiana following an extended illness. He was born September 17, 1944, in Goshen, Indiana to Paul J. & Ruth F. (Misner) Rink.
On July 6, 1964, in Elkhart, Indiana he married Myrna K. Dobbins. She survives along with 1 daughter, Deidre (Jeff) Bellamy of Granger; 5 grandchildren, Lauren (David) Ganger, Brooke (Zachary) Gates, Nathan (Gabrielle) Bellamy, Garrett (Yasmine) Rink-Scott, Anslie Rink-Scott and 5 great-grandchildren, Wade, Kaiden, Leo, Emersyn, and Hudson.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Paul J. Rink II, 2 siblings, Thomas L. Rink and Sharon Hedrick, his maternal/grandparents, Lawrence & Ruth Misner, his paternal grandparents, George & Clara Rink and a great-granddaughter, Everlynn Grace Brandt.
Paul worked as purchasing agent for Journey Motor Homes for 30 years and retired in 2011 from Sundowner Interiors. He graduated in 1963 from Elkhart High School, was a 58-year member of the Northside Church of the Nazarene where he served in many capacities over the years. Paul loved to frequent auctions, enjoyed scrapping with his father, enjoyed fishing, loved all sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame fan. But, most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday October 23, 2022, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Funeral services for Paul will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday October 24, 2022, at the Northside Church of the Nazarene, 53569 C.R. 7, Elkhart, IN. Pastor Tim Sheets will render the service and burial will follow in Brown Cemetery in Millersburg, IN. Friends may visit with the family for ½ hour prior to the start of the service at the church on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Rink family and will be used to help a nephew who is battling cancer. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
