PATRICIA ANN THURSBY-DANIELS

May 30, 1944 – April 10, 2022

ELKHART- Patricia Ann Thursby-Daniels, 77, of Mansfield, Texas, formerly of Elkhart, Indiana, died Sunday April 10, 2022, at Mansfield Hospital in Mansfield, Texas.  She was born May 30, 1944, in Elkhart, Indiana to Robert James and Opal Mae (Allison) Thursby.

     On February 14, 1965, she married Robert Paul Daniels.  He preceded her in death on November 14, 2020.  Also preceding her in death was her father Robert James Thursby and her mother Opal Mae Thursby Overmyer.  Surviving are 4 siblings, Rebecca Jane Thursby-Maxey of NJ, James Robert Thursby of OR, Jennifer Kay (Paul) Thursby-Hess of Goshen, IN, Susan Thursby-Hoover of Middlebury, IN and 7 nieces and nephews, Sheri, Chris, Judy, Samantha, Steven, K.J. and Robert.  Patty left behind her precious cat “Misty” who now lives with Jennifer.

     Patty loved to travel and enjoyed family, friends, and animals, especially cats.  Patty was employed as a high school teacher and taught English at Mishawaka High School and at Mansfield Junior and Senior High School in Mansfield, Texas. Patty started teaching in San Antonio Texas, and Austin Texas.

Bob and Patty owned and worked in a school fund raising business for over 40 years.

     A celebration of life service for Bob and Patty will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 7, 2022, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Rev. Andrea Hickey, Chaplain at Goshen Hospital will preside, and burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior to the start of the service.

     Memorial contributions may be given to the Pet Refuge or the Elkhart County Humane Society.
