Odas Clay Mynhier

Odas Clay Mynhier, 90, passed away July 14, 2017 at Elkhart Hospice House with his family by his side. He was born November 17, 1926 in Yale, KY to Edwin & Stella (Hunt) Mynhier, Sr. On August 5, 1950 in Elkhart he married Shirley J. Jenkins; she survives along with 2 daughters; Drue J. (Terry) Whitworth of West Lafayette, IN, Lana K. (Robert) Reynolds of Bradenton, FL, sister; Vivian "Peggy" (William) Shull of Fort Wayne, IN, 2 brothers; Edwin (Eileen) Mynhier, Jr. of Kimmell, IN, and Charles (Inez) Mynhier of Wolcottville, IN. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren; Amy (Scott) Prior, Clayton (Tiffany) Whitworth all of West Lafayette, IN, Kelci Mynhier of Jacksonville, FL, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren; Tiphanie (John) Tomsick of Moscow, ID, Trevor (Melissa) Whitworth, Travis (Sallie) Whitworth all of Mt. Washington, KY, and 8 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents 2 brothers; Lloyd Mynhier, Alva Mynhier and son Anthony Clay "Tony" Mynhier. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home Monday, July 17, 2017. Additional visitation will be an hour prior to the 2 pm funeral service Tuesday at the funeral home. Presiding will be Pastor Jennifer Weaver from Calvary United Methodist Church and burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN. Odas was a postal carrier at the Elkhart Post office until his retirement in 1986. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, member of the American Legion in North Webster, IN, attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Elkhart and wintered in Bradenton, FL for 22 years.
