ELKHART-Nelson C. Coble, 64, passed away unexpectedly September 5, 2024, at his home in Elkhart. He was born January 24, 1960, in Portsmouth, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Delma (Maxie) Coble.
On June 29, 1991, he married Cynthia Dalpe. She survives along with their 3 children, Andrew Coble, Brandon Coble, and Leanna Coble. Also surviving is a daughter, Erin (Jeremy) Darveau, 1 grandson, Jax, 2 brothers, Gregg (Debbie) Coble, Anthony (Debie) Coble, 4 nieces and nephews, Amber, Danielle, Stephen, Laura, 2 uncles, Joe Coble, Monty Coble, 3 aunts, Anita Williams, Beverly Wood, Lawana Hurst and numerous other family members.
Nelson began his education in the Pleasant School System in Marion, OH, received a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and worked for the Warehouse Club for over 10 years. He was a former board member for ADEC, an avid Buckeye fan, and a Cincinnati Reds fan. He played sports his entire life beginning in the Pleasant School System, continuing into OSU, and also softball through his church. Nelson enjoyed golfing as well but most dear to him was his family that truly meant the world to him.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the 4 p.m. funeral service Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the funeral home. Presiding will be Pastor Tim Sheets from Elkhart Northside Nazarene.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or in honor of his late father to the Alzheimer’s Association.
