MICHAEL J. CASTLEMAN
February 7, 1944 – June 2, 2024
ELKHART- Michael J. Castleman, 80, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024, at his residence. He was born February 7, 1944, in South Bend to the late Harold E. and Helen T. (Slazewski) Castleman.
On June 26, 1965, he married Marilyn (Nagy) Castleman in Elkhart, she survives.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include a son, Michael (Sarah) Castleman of Elkhart; daughter, Deborah Wiswell of Elkhart; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David J. Castleman and a grandson.
Prior to his retirement he was employed as a conductor with Conrail/Norfolk Southern for 25 years.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 East Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, IN. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to The Center for Hospice Care in memory of Mike.
