MELISSA JANE LALONDE

September 29, 1949 – July 20, 2024

ELKHART- Melissa Jane LaLonde, 74, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 at her residence. She was born on September 29, 1949 in Anaheim, CA to Wallace and LuEllen (Hartzell) Beard.

On September 6, 1969 she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” O. LaLonde and he survives.

Other survivors include her 2 children Chon Lalonde and Charles (Barb) Lalonde; 1 brother Wayne Beard; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Melissa was employed as a librarian with the Elkhart Public Libraries for more than 15 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Willowdale Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and traveling with her husband.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the 2:00 pm funeral service on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Willowdale Church of Christ, 1400 Willowdale Ave., Elkhart, IN 46514. Christopher Reno will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to Riley’s Center for Hospice or then Worth of Water in memory of Melissa.
