MARY ELLEN SCHMUCKER

June 9, 1926 – October 20, 2022

ELKHART- Mary Ellen Schmucker, 96, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away Thursday October 20, 2022, at Woodland Manor in Elkhart.  She was born June 9, 1926, in Kokomo, Indiana to Jerry & Frances (Imel) Sims.

     On January 27, 1957, in Milford, Indiana she married Henry F. Schmucker.  He preceded her in death on August 3, 2010, in Elkhart, IN.  Surviving are 2 sons, Leonard F. Schmucker and Terry Lee (Pamela) Schmucker both of Elkhart, IN; 4 grandchildren, Michael (Stacy) Schmucker, Christopher (Beth) Schmucker, Jeremy Schmucker, Aaron (Jen) Schmucker all of Elkhart, IN and 2 great-grandchildren, Marissa and Aven.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

    Mary graduated in 1945 from high school in Marion, IN.  She was a member of the Creekside Church of the Brethren, a member of the Friendly Pioneers Club and a member of UCT (United Commercial Travelers).  Mary was a homemaker and she enjoyed doing word search.  In her younger years she was employed as a receptionist for the Telephone Company.

     Funeral services will be held at Noon on Wednesday October 26, 2022, at the Creekside Church of the Brethren, 60455 C. R. 113, Elkhart, IN.  Pastor Rozanna McFadden will render the service and David Harper and Jeremy Chesley will assist.  Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior to the start of the service at the church.

     Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.  Memorial contributions may be given to the church.
