MARY LOU CARUSILLO

August 26, 1930 – June 12, 2023

ELKHART- Mary Lou Carusillo, 92, of Elkhart, passed away Monday June 12, 2023, at Elkhart General Hospital.  She was born August 26, 1930, in South Bend, Indiana to Joseph Michael & Josephine (Majchrzak) Wittling.

     On June 13, 1953, in South Bend, Indiana she married John A. Carusillo, Jr.  he preceded her in death on November 9, 2018, in Elkhart, IN.  Surviving are 4 children, Tom (Barb) Carusillo of Indianapolis, IN, Steve Carusillo of Kalamazoo, MI, Jim (Lisa) Carusillo of Bristol, IN, Maureen (Jeff) Munger of Osceola, IN; 5 granddaughters; 1 grandson and 3 great-granddaughters.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

     Mary graduated in 1949 from St. Joseph Academy High School in South Bend.  She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Elkhart and a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Bristol. In her younger years Mary did volunteer work in the kitchen and library at St. Vincent Catholic Church.  Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

     Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday June 21, 2023, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. that evening.  Additional visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Thursday June 22, 2023, in the Vincent Hall at St. Vincent Catholic Church.  The Mass of Christian Burial will start at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the church.  Fr. Craig Borchard will render the mass and burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery.

     Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent Church or St. Vincent Cemetery.
