Martin Jerome Gordon II

January 10, 1972 – May 7, 2025

Martin Jerome Gordon II, better known as “Big Marty” to many, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on May 7th, 2025, at 9:53 p.m. after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

    Marty was born on January 10th, 1972, at Elkhart General Hospital to Suzanne Bunyan (Eternicka) and Martin J. Gordon.  

   Marty had two children, Martin J. Gordon III and Summer Bre Anne Gordon.  Marty was married on September 14th, 2012, to Crystal L. Gordon (Reed).  He had two grandchildren, Martin J Gordon IV and Leola N. Gordon; whom were Marty’s most treasured possessions in life.  His grandchildren were his pride and joy and turned a big guy like Marty into a softie.  Marty’s stepfather Willis. E Bunyan came into Marty’s life at the age of 10 and was the loving father to Marty.  

The simple things in life made Marty the happiest and that’s when he was just hanging with family and friends.

   Marty took pride in everything he did and was a perfectionist.  When it came to work, he took care of the inside and outside of the home.  He was an independent contractor.  Before falling ill Marty worked for Infinity Flooring out of New Paris, Indiana where he was able to say it was more than just a job, he worked with good friends that became family many years ago.  Some of Marty’s greatest titles in life were Paw Paw, Dad, Husband, Brother, Son and Friend.  Marty had a big extension of family and had many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Marty’s siblings are Bernadette Gordon (Ryan Roberts) Jeanette Gordon and Dominic Gordon (Mary Gordon).   

 Marty’s visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 East Jackson Blvd, Elkhart, IN.  Additional visitation will be held on Friday, May 16th 2025 starting at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with services starting at 11:00 a.m., burial will follow at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, Indiana.
