MARLA SUE ELY

March 12, 1957 – April 30, 2021

ELKHART- Marla Sue Ely, 64, of Elkhart, died Friday April 30, 2021 at the Life Care Center of LaGrange.  She was born March 12, 1957 in Goshen, Indiana to Verne L. Griffith, Jr. and Mona (Ellis) Griffith.

     On November 17, 1996 in Toledo, Ohio she married David R. Ely.  He survives along with a daughter, Hollie Daeger of South Bend, her mother, Mona Avara of Elkhart, 5 grandchildren and 2 sisters, Jann Lindsey, and Peggy (Robert) Fletcher both of Elkhart.  She was preceded in death by her father Verne L. Griffith, Jr. on January 13, 2001.

     Marla graduated from Memorial High School in 1975.  She enjoyed being outdoors and, in the sun, going to the beach and working in her flower garden.

      Celebration of Life Gathering  will be from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2021.    Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.

     Memorial contributions may be given to the ALS Association.
