MARILYN J. DAVIDHIZAR

September 4, 1927- June 7, 2022

 

 

ELKHART- Marilyn J. Davidhizar, 94, of Elkhart, died Tuesday June 7, 2022, at her residence in South Bend.  She was born September 4, 1927, in Elkhart, Indiana to Schuylar and Jennie Marie (Abel) Bevington.

     On March 24, 1946, she married Charles E. Davidhizar, Sr.  He preceded her in death on January 5, 1974.  Also preceding her in death were her parents and 2 brother, Robert Lee & Max Bevington.

Surviving are 2 children, Carol L. (Mike) Woodworth of Elkhart, Charles E. (Joyce) Davidhizar, Jr., of Sebring, FL; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

     Marilyn taught Sunday School for 7 years at Porter Baptist Church; was a member of the Ladies Guild at the church and was the Missionary Secretary for the church.  Marilyn was currently a member of the Northside Baptist Church.  She loved doing puzzles and crafting.  Marilyn was formerly employed at Maurek’s IGA as a butcher and worked at Charlie’s Butcher Block.

     Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service for Marilyn will be held Monday, June 20, 2022 at Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart.  Visitation is from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. service will be at 11:00 a.m.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Plum Grove Cemetery in Union, Michigan.

     Memorial contributions may be given to the Northside Baptist Church, the Wounded Warrior Program or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
