LUELLA L. ELLIOTT

March 27, 1933 – June 12, 2023

BRISTOL, Luella L. Elliott, 90, of Bristol, formerly of Elkhart, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 in Bristol. She was born March 27, 1933 in Cheboygan, MI to the late Clifton Thornton and Clara (Bishop) Thornton.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Wanda (Jim) Scott of Elkhart and Dawn (James) Gray of Hobart; 2 sons, Jim Demerly of Elkhart and Steve Demerly of Goshen; step-daughter, Tina (Les) Humbree of Elkhart; 3 sisters, Sharon Davis of Cheboygan, MI, Eleanor Demerly of Elkhart and Betty Thornton of Gaylord, MI; 1 brother, Virgil Thornton of Cheboygan, MI; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Elliott; daughter, Dorla Demerly; step-son, Ryan Elliott; brother, Jack Thornton; 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Davis.

Luella was employed at Miles Laboratory for more than 28 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Elkhart Calvary Assembly of God for more than 20 years. She was an avid quilter and loved to crochet. Luella loved feeding and watching the birds. Being born on a farm, she loved working outdoors. Next to her love for Jesus, her family was most important to her. Luella loved to laugh. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband William Elliott.

The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the 12:00 noon funeral service on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46516. Pastor Brian Whidden will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart.
