Lorraine “Lori” Zanetti
May 29, 1933 – March 18, 2023
ELKHART- Lorraine “Lori” Zanetti, 89, of Elkhart, loving, wife, mother & grandmother, died peacefully in her sleep with no pain on Saturday March 18, 2023, at her residence in Elkhart. She was born May 29, 1933, in South Bend, Indiana to Stanley & Jane (Kopczynski) Wachowiak.
On October 9, 1954, in South Bend, Indiana she married Romie N. Zanetti. He survives along with 3 children, Stanley M. Zanetti of Elkhart, Victor B. (Jill) Zanetti of Plano, TX, Linda J. (Brent) Anderson of Coppell, TX, Son-in-law Jeffrey Claxton of Indianapolis, IN, 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; a brother, Ray (Georgian) Wachowiak of South Bend and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Gloria Claxton and 2 siblings, Ben Wachowiak and Betty Horvath.
Lori graduated in 1951 from Washington High School in South Bend. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge and the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed playing golf and playing bridge with her friends.
Lori worked as a secretary at Bendix Corporation and Studebaker both in South Bend and was a was the head cashier at the Elkhart Community School System for over 25 years.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2023, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family for 1 hour prior to the mass at the church.
