Loralee Courtney

Lora (Signorino) Courtney, 81, of Mishawaka, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in Elkhart.

She was born July, 22, 1941, in Mishawaka to Michele and Patricia (Johnson) Signorino. Lora graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1959. She married Robert E. Courtney on December 4, 1966. He died on August 21, 1994.

Surviving are three siblings: Michele “Slug” Signorino, La Porte; Liane Signorino, Elkhart and Chris (Jamie) Signorino, Bentonville, Arkansas; six children: Joseph Courtney, Osceola; Shari (Kevin) Mark, Mesa, Arizona; Mark Carroll, Las Vegas, Nevada; Matt Carroll, Las Vegas, Nevada; Bobby (Laura) Courtney, Hilliard, Ohio, and Anne (Crista) Courtney, Madison, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, brother Danny Signorino, sister-in-law Judy Signorino, son Patrick Courtney, and granddaughter Tess Mormando.                                                                                     

Lora resided in Mishawaka and Elkhart her entire life raising and nurturing her family and supporting Robert’s business. She will be remembered for her kind heart and the unconditional love she showed to her family and children, as well as to the staff and kids at Meadow’s Edge Elementary School in Mishawaka where she worked as a health aide for 13 years. She was a member of the East United Methodist Church in Mishawaka, and in her free time she enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, and watching movies.                                          

Per her request there will be no memorial or service. Donations in Lora’s memory can be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
