LOLA P. CASSELMAN

February 6, 1933 – May 21, 2024

ELKHART- Lola P. Casselman, 91, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday May 21, 2024, at Riverside Village in Elkhart.  She was born February 6, 1933, in Sturgis, Michigan to Ward Vernon & Enola (Baker) Stevens, Sr.

     On July 13, 1951, in Elkhart, Indian she married Gerald H Casselman, Sr.  He preceded her in death on November 22, 1997, in Elkhart, Indiana.  Surviving are 3 children, Rev. Gerald H (Brooke) Casselman, Jr., of Elkhart, Lola Federnok of Osceola, Laura Wiley of Elkhart; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren and 5 siblings, Bill Stevens of Bonifay, FL, Rick (Carol) Stevens of Middlebury, IN, Becky Warren of Goshen, IN, Gail (Art) Hoyt of Shipshewana, IN, Rita (Jeff) Wise of Granger, IN and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Ronald V. Casselman, her stepfather, Rev. Charles Zook, and 4 siblings, Richard Stevens, Nancy Clements, Ward Vernon Stevens, Jr., and Betty Amos.

     Lola was a long-time member of the Church of the Nazarene in Elkhart, Indiana, but had been attending the Shepherd’s Heart Fellowship Church in Osceola, Indiana, where her son had been pastoring. 

Lola had worked as a seamstress in making curtains for manufacturing homes.  At home she enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading her bible and spending time with her family.  She was a true prayer warrior and she enjoyed sitting in front of her picture window drinking coffee and watching the birds.

     Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 28, 2024, at Shepherd’s Heart Fellowship Church, 58362 Beech Road, Osceola, IN 46561.  Her funeral will start at 1:00 p.m. at the church.  Rev. Gerald H Casselman (her son) will preside, and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.
