Lois J. Ranta

ELKHART- Lois J. Ranta, 75, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at her residence. She was born August 28, 1941 in Hammond to Robert W. and Ann M. (Arens) Fredericks. On October 5, 1963 she married her husband of 53 years, Robert W. Ranta in Munster. In addition to her husband, other survivors include 2 sisters, Carolyn Collison of Goshen and Madeline (Danny) Wedding of Arizona; 1 brother, Edward Fredericks of Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 daughter, Jean Smith Lois was a loving homemaker for more than 53 years and was employed as a sales associate at Sears for more than 15 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Elkhart. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 27664 County Road 24, Elkhart. Pastor Tim Wesco will officiate. The church will open at 10:00 AM to receive friends. Interment will follow in Olive West Cemetery.
