LILLIAN F. SELICK

February 16, 1925 – May 16, 2022

ELKHART- Lillian F. Selick, 97, of Elkhart, died Monday May 16, 2022, at her residence in Elkhart.  She was born February 16, 1925, in Elkhart, Indiana to Ralph & Loreen Pontious.

     On January 11, 1946, in Elkhart she married William Selick.  He preceded her in death on November 16, 2006, in Elkhart.  Lillian is survived by her daughter, Christine A. Eaglesfield of Elkhart; a grandson, William James (Kristen) Eaglesfield of Granger, IN and her sister, Anna Kirts of Elkhart.  Also surviving are 2 cousins, Jeanette Kirts Stern of Pembrooke Pines, FL, Susan Kirts McWhorter of Panama City, FL and a great-niece, Carole McWhorter Perry of Gulf Breeze, FL.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William and her brother, Donald E. Pontious.

     Lillian graduated from Elkhart High School in 1943 and in her earlier years enjoyed reading and embordering.   During the war she worked at Chicago Telephone Company as an assembler and worked part-time as a cashier at the Elco Theater.

     Cremation will take place and inurnment will be private at Rice Cemetery.

Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
