Leroy Chaney

Leroy Chaney, 85, passed away January 13, 2019 at his home in Elkhart. He was born January 11, 1934 in Plant City, FL to Clay & Mildred (Knuckols) Chaney. On March 5, 1960 in Niles, Michigan he married Norma Johnson; she preceded him in death on June 13, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 siblings, Ann Ragland and Thomas Chaney. Surviving are 3 sons, Leroy Chaney, Billy Ray (Lisa) Chaney, Ricky Allen Sr. (Michele) Chaney, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 7 siblings; Geraldine Greathouse, James (Ruthie) Chaney, Jeanette (Larry) Losee, William (Dora) Chaney, Sue (Jessie) Hollis, Larry (Brenda) Chaney, Carla Borzeniatow and numerous nieces and nephews. Leroy was a U.S. Army Veteran stationed in Korea, worked at Mogul Rubber for over 41 years and was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge #836 in Goshen. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, walking, going to the casino and taking care of his dog, Mitzi. Visitation will be Friday, January 18, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be held Saturday 1 hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Presiding will be his son, Leroy and burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
