Lawrence Hite Obituary

Lawrence S. “Larry” Hite, 77, of Goshen, passed away Saturday September 24, 2022, at Elkhart General Hospital.  Larry was born October 28, 1944, in LaPorte, IN to Ralph & Orpha (Nusbaum) Hite.

     On August 8, 1970, he married Sandra K. Higgins.  She survives along with 1 niece, Emily Hite of South Bend, 1 nephew, Ken C. “Cliff” Hite of Osceola, and a sister-in-law, Haydee Hite of Osceola.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Hite.

     Larry served in the United States Air Force from 1964 -1968 and received an honorable discharge.  Larry graduated from high school and received a B.S. Degree in Accounting from IUSB.  He attended the Faith United Methodist Church and enjoyed boating and fishing.  Larry was employed from 1968 – 1994 at Bayer as an accountant and from 1998- 2006 as a controller at J. A. Wagner Construction, retiring in 2006.

     Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday September 29, 2022, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Pastor John Hogsett from Faith United Methodist Church will render the service and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery where there will be full military honors rendered.  Friends may visit with the family for 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

      Memorial contributions may be given to the Faith Mission or the Elkhart County Humane Society.
