April 1, 1961-July 28, 2020

 

ELKHART-Larry A. Chapman, 59, passed away July 28, 2020 at Creekside Village in Mishawaka.  He was born April 1, 1961 in Cleveland, OH to Wilburn & Alma (Cook) Chapman.

  On April 26, 1980 he married Vicki Middleton.   Surviving is his wife of 40 years,  Vicki Chapman, his father, Wilburn Chapman, 3 children, James Chapman, Ross Chapman, Brittany (Robert) Grey, 4 grandchildren, Aden, Robert III, Serina and Orion.  Also surviving is his brother, Gary (Christina) Chapman and numerous nieces and nephews.   

  He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Chapman, 3 siblings, Danny Chapman, Roy Chapman and Shirley Chapman. 

  Larry worked in the R.V. industry his entire life and spent the last 5 years with Forest River.  Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR and his favorite driver was, Dale Earnhardt.  He had a real talent for being able to fix just about anything and would always be willing to help anyone in need.  He will be remembered as having a heart of gold and for being a wonderful family man. 

  Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2020 at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Additional visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the funeral home.  Pastor Gene Chapman, his uncle, will be presiding and burial will follow in Rice Cemetery. 

  Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
