KAYOLA MAE HERSHBERGER

March 29, 1939 – April 29, 2021

MIDDLEBURY- Kayola Mae Hershberger, 82, of Middlebury, died Thursday April 29, 2021 at the home of her son in Middlebury.  She was born March 29, 1939 in Constantine, Michigan to George and Anna Mae (Hurst) Platz.

     On October 10, 1957 in LaGrange, IN she married Carlton Wayne Hershberger.  He preceded her in death on April 10, 1994 in Middlebury, IN.

Surviving are 3 sons, Jeffrey G. (Linda) Hershberger of Middlebury, James D. (Angela) Hershberger of Bristol, IN, and Jeremy L. (Leona) Hershberger of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and her companion Robert Yoder of Middlebury.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carlton, her son Jacob Hershberger; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

     Kayola enjoyed traveling to Florida and spending time with her family.  She worked at Martin’s Pet and Garden Center in Elkhart and at McDonald’s in White Pigeon, MI.

     In keeping with her wishes cremation will take place and burial will be at a later date in Vistula Cemetery next to her husband Carlton.

      Visitation for Kayola will be Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at New Song Community Church, 16050 Wayne St., Union, MI.   A celebration of life service for Kayola will be Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Pastor Chris Garner will be presiding.  Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.

     Memorial contributions may be given to Riley Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
