With  a heavy heart,  I share the passing of my mother Kathy Skinner who has passed on May 7th, 2025.

Born in Terre Haute to Helen Marie Coleman (ne Stivers) and Henry Anston Coleman on November 26th 1957- my mother was one of 14 children- 10 brothers and 3 sisters apart from herself.  She graduated from Elkhart High school in 1975. She was hard working- always putting others before herself- and it showed in how she cared for others throughout her life. Her sense of humor and kindness helped her personality shine. She had married and divorced once- to Otis Ken Skinner and between them they had 6 children, but only one survived at birth- her daughter Brandy Nicole Coleman Skinner- born on September 25th,1989. She held several jobs to raise her daughter- the most prominent being working for the Elkhart community school system as a substitute teacher as well as a school cook and artist until her early retirement in 2001. She had a profound love of arts and crafts- always making handmade quilts and jewelry when she wasn’t drawing- and always did her best to show her family love- especially around the holidays and had an unmatched love toward her daughter and her pet dogs. She was a fighter, having fought a lot of illnesses or injuries only ever made her tougher. Kathy is survived by,  her fraternal twin Mike Coleman, her younger brother Steve Coleman, and her older sister Debbie Coleman- as well her daughter Brandy Coleman-Skinner and as many nieces and nephews that go beyond counting.   Kathy was a good mother, a good sister, a good aunt, and a good friend to those that knew her. She will be missed dearly- her love, generosity and laughter will be remembered forever by all who knew her.

  Her service will be held at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home with visitation at 2pm and a memorial service preceding it at 3pm on May 28th
