Kathleen L. Ellis, 73, passed away August 29, 2024, at Brickyard Healthcare in Mishawaka.  She was born February 27, 1951, in Elkhart to the late Donald Ellis and Doris (Mapes) Ellis-Cox.

  Surviving are 2 daughters, Rebekah Welch, Tami (Scott) Bruner, 2 grandchildren, Brittany Kamp, Haley Welch, 8 great grandchildren, Khyia, Neviaeh, Bella, Brenden “Bubby”, Dayton, Gabi, Nova, and Jordan.  Also surviving is her best friend and cousin, Patti (Rob) Smith, an uncle, Clarence Flowers, numerous other family members and friends.

  Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2024, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  The celebration of life service will begin at 3 p.m. Presiding will be Kevin Woolwine.

  Burial will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. Prairie Street Cemetery.

  Kathleen worked at Smith’s Gas Station for over 12 years.  Family was very important to her, and she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by her family but they will remember her for being independent, feisty, kindhearted, and an amazing woman.
