KAREN BELLE SCHULTHEIS

April 15, 1947 – December 17, 2023

ELKHART- Karen Belle Schultheis, 76, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday December 17, 2023, at Harmony Care in Elkhart surrounded by her loving family.  She was born April 15, 1947, in Greensburg, PA to Michael & Cora Mae (McMann) Melenia.

     On September 3, 1966, in Greensburg, PA she married Donald E. Schultheis.  Don survives along with 2 sons, Donald A. (Terena) Schultheis of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Bradley S. (Tammy) Schultheis of Elkhart, Indiana and 5 grandchildren, Alexis Schultheis, Ory (Emma) Schultheis, Tailor Schultheis, Sydnie Schultheis, Payton Schultheis and 1 great-granddaughter Elowyn Schultheis.  Additional survivors include 5 siblings, Dale Melenia of Greensburg, Lois Hylva of Grapeville, PA Peggy Trout of Irwin, PA, Leslie Spear of Counce, TN and Brian (Suzie) Melenia of Greensburg, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Hugh & Jerry Melenia.

     Karen was a member of the Northside Baptist Church and sang in the choir at the church.  She enjoyed reading and painting by numbers.  Karen worked at E.K. Blessings for over 30 years.

     Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. till Noon and from 2:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 20, 2023, at the Northside Baptist Church, 53198 C.R. 9, Elkhart, IN 46514.  The funeral service will start at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Pastor Carl Henry from the Northside Baptist will render the service and cremation will follow the service.   Inurnment will be private at a later date at Rice Cemetery.  Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.

     Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or Caring Cove Hospice.
