June Camille Stoutenour

February 12, 1929 – April 23, 2026

It Is with heavy hearts and profound admiration that we announce the passing of June C Stoutenour, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on April 23, 2026, at the age of 97. June's journey began on February 12, 1929, in Elkhart, IN where she was born to Wiliam D. And Nellie O. Bowlby Nicodemus.  June touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

June was united in marriage to Cornelius H. Stoutenour, on February 15, 1947. They shared life together, marked by deep affection and mutual respect until his passing. Together, they found joy in collecting antiques and were active members of the Model A Club.

For many years, June dedicated herself as a devoted housewife and later worked at Muff's Beauty Shop.

A devout member of St Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church.  June's faith was her guiding light.

June's culinary talents were cherished by all who had the pleasure of tasting her cooking and baking. Especially her pies!

She ls lovingly survived by her son Michael (Nancy) Stoutenour, of Elkhart, IN; her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Garrett Gardner) Stoutenour, Martin (Amanda) Stoutenour and Jason Francis; and her six precious great-granddaughters; Gemma, Olivia, Lyla Gardner, Penelope, Monroe Stoutenour, and Gabrielle Francis.

June was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cornelius and her brother Gene Nicodemus.

The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the 1:30 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 East Jackson Blvd, Elkhart, Indiana.  Reverend Jason Freiburger will officiate.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Greenleaf Health Campus and Traditions Hospice for the compassionate care provided to June in her final days.
