Judith Anne (Kambs) Flora Obituary

Judith Kambs Flora

December 28, 1941- October 5, 2025

Judith Flora went to be with her Lord on October 5, 2025, at the age of 83.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who deeply loved the Lord and was a dear friend to many.

She was a gifted artist, pianist, gardener and a faithful, powerful prayer warrior.  She loved solving crossword and sudoku puzzles, and was an ardent lover of lighthouses, which resulted in her large collection of lighthouse memorabilia.

Born on December 28, 1941, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Ethel Ann and William Charles Kambs, Judy was the eldest child of three, followed by her sister Kathy and brother Bill.  Judy began playing the piano at a very young age and won many gold medals at competitions.

Judy and her family moved to Elkhart, Indiana at the age of 15.  She went to Elkhart High School where she enjoyed being a cheerleader.  Upon graduation, Judy entered the workforce as an administrative assistant with a local real estate developer, and with General Telephone Company, and later as an artist. She then started a family and had two wonderful children.  After a divorce she reconnected with the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Dennis Flora. They were married for 49 years, confirming that they were made for each other.  They initially lived in Rochester, Michigan, then relocated to Washington, Illinois and later moved back to the Michiana area, settling in Granger.  Once there, Judy became active in their church and led Bible studies and prayer groups for many years. They built a house in the area and made it their home for years.

Judy is survived by her beloved husband Dennis Flora, daughter Amy Holland (Eric), sons Dean  (Holly) and Doug (Dana), daughter-in-law Donna Rezutko and 8 grandchildren (Jacob, Josie, Chase, Sam, Ryan, Ethan, Bryce and Reagan). She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and son Geoffrey Rezutko.

There will be a graveside service for immediate family at Olive Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the 700 Club and New Hope Methodist Church of Elkhart.

Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care.
