JOSEPHINE M. LIENHART

July 27, 1930 – January 19, 2022

 

 

ELKHART- Josephine M. Lienhart, 91, of Elkhart, died Wednesday January 19, 2022, at Greencroft Healthcare in Goshen.  She was born July 27, 1930, in Elkhart, Indiana to Walter G. and Mary A. (Carroll) Neidballa.

     On September 2, 1951, in Dunlap, Indiana she married Walter E. Lienhart.  He preceded her in death on April 2, 2018, in Elkhart, Indiana.  Surviving are 4 children, Kay M. (Jerry) Adkins, Kenneth S. (Debra) Lienhart, Susan R. (Michael) Kime, Dennis R. (Ginger) Lienhart all of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Lillian Lovejoy of Elkhart.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, her brother-in-law, Robert Lovejoy and a nephew, James Lovejoy.

     Josephine graduated in 1948 from Concord High School.  She was a long-time member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church where she taught vacation bible school and belonged to various women’s groups in the church.  She also was a volunteer for the Concord Music Association and was a member of the Sun Lakes Country Club in Arizona and a member of 4-H.  She belonged to the Bounder Club and traveled with the group around the country.  Josephine enjoyed playing pinochle with her high school friends, and she loved to sew.  She made her own cloths and some for her grandchildren.  Josephine and Walter wintered in Ajo and Sun Lakes Arizona from 1992 to 2017.  They bought properties in Arizona which they remodeled and then flipped.

     Josephine worked at CTS Corporation from 1948 -1952.  She also worked as a cafeteria manager at Concord Westside Elementary School from 1965 until she retired in 1992.

     Funeral services for Josephine will be held at Noon on Saturday January 29, 2022, at the Dunlap United Methodist Church.  Pastor Melissa Engelhart will preside, and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

     Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Dunlap United Methodist Church, Heartland Hospice or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
