John H. Scarlett Sr.
March 3, 1945 – April 1, 2025
ELKHART- John H. Scarlett, 80, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025. He was born on March 3, 1945, in Lafayette, IN to the late Santford and Maude (Humes) Scarlett.
Survivors include his wife, Ellyn L. (Cochran) Scarlett of Elkhart; 2 daughters, Dawn Jewell of Greenback, TN and Salene Scarlett of Osceola, IN; son, John Scarlett Jr. of Goshen, IN; stepson, Chris Cooper of Ormond Beach, FL
John was a self-employed building contractor for many years prior to his retirement.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 East Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46516. A time of sharing will begin at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the charity of your choice.
