JESSIE EARL CARTER

March 20, 1947 – October 13, 2022

ELKHART- Jessie Earl Carter, 75, of Elkhart, passed away at his residence in Elkhart.  He was born March 20, 1947, in Edwards, Mississippi to Willie Carter, Sr. & Leanna Collins.

     Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Jessica Vincent of Lansdowne, PA, his brother, J.C. Carter of Elkhart, his sister, Leonteen Vaughn of South Bend and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and close friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Gina R. Carter and eight siblings.

     Jessie was formerly employed as a police officer with the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department and the Indiana State Police.  He enjoyed golfing, was a member of the Canaan Baptist Church and the Indiana F.O.P.   Jessie was loved by his family, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

     The family has chosen cremation and a celebration of life service for Jessie will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday October 20, 2022, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Friends may visit with the family for 1 hour prior to the service.

     Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
