Jerry L. Ehret

January 6, 1940-May 30, 2025

ELKHART-Jerry L. Ehret, 85, passed away May 30, 2025, at Brickyard Healthcare.  He was born January 6, 1940, in Elkhart, IN.

  On May 15, 1987, he married Carol Lambert; she survives along with his son, Tony (Tonia) Ehret, 4 grandchildren, Zackery Ehret, Kylie Ehret, Caity (Stephen) Bierenga, Jay Pixley, 7 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Parker, Kinslee, Kamila, Mateo, Sofia, and Knox.  Also surviving is a brother, Larry (Vicky) Ehret, and a sister, Marty (Larry) Johnson.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis & Doris (Mast) Ehret, and a sister, Mary Jo Eash.

 Jerry served in the Army Reserves, worked at Miles Labs (Bayer) for 34 years, and attended Adamsville Road Church of God.  He was a talented woodworker that built his dream log home in 1982.  He collected 16th scale farm equipment, model trains, and enjoyed camping, traveling and reading. 

  Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society or the State Parks. 

 Visitation will be Monday, June 9, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Additional visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Tuesday at the funeral home.  Entombment will follow in Rice Cemetery.  Officiating will be his sister-in-law, Rev. Victoria Ehret.
