Jeanette Elaine Hale Obituary

Jeanette “Elaine” Hale

May 23, 1946-June 9, 2024

GOSHEN-Jeanette “Elaine” Hale went home to be with her Father in Heaven as a special angel at 6:15 AM on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Samuel Hale; brothers Richard and Jim Kemp; a sister Dianne Anderson; a son Greg (Celeste) Hale; a daughter Dara (Phillip) Shank; eight grandchildren Cpl. Ryan (Corinne) Hale, Ben (Payton) Chambers, Ashlyn (Eric) Loosle, Samantha, Hannah, Lilianna, Olivia, and Alyssa Shank; and three great grandchildren Wilder and Iris Hale and Charlie Anne Chambers.

Elaine was preceded in death by eight of her siblings; sisters Eva Firestone, Conita Quick, and Judy Massey; brothers Albert, Howard, Billy Joe, Raymond, and Austin Kemp.

Elaine was born May 23, 1946 in Gassville, Arkansas to Howard and Gladys Kemp as Jeanette Elaine Kemp. She married Samuel C. Hale on April 22, 1962 in Harrison, Arkansas.

Elaine lived her life with love. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her grandchildren. She belonged to a Starlight Chapter #181, volunteered for Revelation Prison Ministries, and received an award from Westville Correctional Facility for most charitable volunteer several times. She could always be found enjoying a Buddy Bar or shopping the best bargains at Goodwill. She made others laugh often and enjoyed Friday dinners with good food and worship. A favorite verse of hers nearing the end of her time on earth was 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 14, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Burial will be at privately at Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
