Jean Smith

November 20, 1940-April 27, 2024

ELKHART-Jean Smith, 83, passed away April 27, 2024, at Riverside Village in Elkhart.  She was born November 20, 1940, in Mishawaka. 

  She was preceded in death by her parents, William Bradford Smith and Lois Maxine (Plank) Smith.

  Surviving are 4 siblings, Edwin (Nancy), Sandra (Stanley), Danny, Jennifer (Dale), and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

  Jean worked at Metropolitan Life for over 45 years.  She was a former member of a sorority, enjoyed bowling, fishing, doing yardwork, and gardening.  She will be remembered for her feisty spirit.

   Visitation will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 11-12-noon, with the funeral service beginning at 12-noon at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery and presiding will be Rev. Bette Thompson from Jamestown United Methodist Church.

  Memorial contributions may be given to the Concord Scholarship Fund.
