James Richard Inbody

August 14, 1951-August 26, 2023

James “Jim” Richard Inbody, 72, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, August 26, 2023.

Jim was born on August 14, 1951, in Goshen, IN, to John and Carrie (Wambaugh) Inbody.  

Jim is survived by his sons, Jeremy Long, Harley Inbody, and Zachary (Brandy) Inbody; 11 grandchildren, Kayla Inbody, Alexis (Scott) Sindle, Austin Inbody, Cayden Inbody, Grace Inbody, James Inbody, Emily Inbody, Bella Inbody, Cameron Inbody, Ryne Inbody, and Ryker Inbody; 3 great-grandchildren, Jacelyn Inbody, AJ Inbody, and Colton Sindle. Also surviving are two siblings, Martha (Roger) Troyer and Larry (Beverly) Inbody. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Carrie (Wambaugh) Inbody, and son, James “Pete” Inbody. 

Jim graduated from Concord High School in 1970. His passion for cars and motorcycles led him to his career as a mechanic. He worked as a Service Manager at Tom Naquin’s and then Hill Truck Sales until 2006. He loved model trains, motorcycles, and diecast dragsters (of which he had an impressive collection). When he wasn’t building something, he enjoyed spending time with his family and watching Westerns, especially if they starred John Wayne. He was full of wisdom and had exceptional intuition for problem solving. He was a great father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.

A graveside service will take place at 2:00pm on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Little Pine Cemetery in Goshen, IN.
